CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

Legacy Banner-Honor.jpg

For more than 20  years, A Shelter for Cancer Families (ASCF) has provided the stability, shelter and support that cancer families depend on when seeking cancer care in the Texas Medical Center (TMC). In 2019, we capitalized on the opportunity to expand our free short-term housing program and to bring our cancer community together with the purchase of the Drake street property near the TMC. The campus is comprised of 15 private residences, a community welcome center and our business office. Since this acquisition, our capacity to house families has more than tripled, helping to alleviate the financial stress for families who need a "home away from home" when navigating a cancer journey in a new city.

With a thriving residential community, and a constant waitlist of families in need, it is imperative that we ensure the integrity and longevity of the community that we have tirelessly worked to build. Our Support the Journey campaign addresses the financial obligations and capital improvements of ASCF so that we can continue to lift the burdens of our cancer families for generations to come.

SUPPORT THE JOURNEY to:

  • Ensure our ability to provide 5,475 nights of housing a year to approximately 100 cancer families

  • Help make imperative capital repairs and improvements across our campus

  • Improve and expand ASCF's program capabilities and further our mission
